Mission
AXA Global Parametrics is looking for a senior data software engineer who will lead the data developments in the team to achieve business requirements for the next couple of years. Those business requirements include index-based insurance products standardization as well as building the new vision of AXA Global Parametrics in terms of loss-based insurance, including image-based loss assessment and new services.


Main roles and responsibilities
In collaboration with the rest of the team, and particularly the engineering manager, the product owners, and the head of tech & data, the senior data software engineer will:
1. Contribute actively to the definition of AGP “Tech & Data” Strategy
• Participate to business products discussion and bring vision, particularly according to data topics
• Choice of technological stacks (mainly cloud but not only)
• Architecture design
• Participate to recruitment phases (whether internal or external workforce)
• Give feedback about product/features prioritization and staffing

2. Build high quality products
• Following an agile working methodology (frameworks, sprints, rituals, roles, …)
• Following engineering good practices (clean code, pair coding, code reviews, test first, continuous integration and continuous delivery, tres amigos, …)
• Ensuring products compliance with group security and regulatory guidelines
• Helping colleagues and external workforce follow those same quality requirements

3. Ensure BAU & maintenance while products are live
• Participate to platform upgrades
• Switch into corrective and evolutionary maintenance when needed
• Help Build components monitoring for an effective quality of service
In terms of components, the senior data software engineering will have to cover all the value chain, for both index-based and loss-based parametric insurance covers:
• Data sourcing
• Data storage, preparation and lineage
• Data transformation pipelines and pricing tools (mainly R, Python)
• Back-end (SQL and NoSQL databases, application exposure through data service layers toward external and internal world)
• Front-ends (for AGP team, brokers, customers, …)
• Other Internal IT solutions (customers, contracts, claims, policy management, …)

Education:
- Computer Science (engineering school, master, PhD) with excellent programming skills and a good understanding of data science and statistics + image analysis

Language:
- Conversational level in English required
- Fluency in French desired

Required skills:
- Strong experience as a data software engineer
- An experience as a computer vision engineer is a +
- An experience in a Big Data Environment is a +
- Good knowledge of main cloud providers (AWS, MS, …)
- Good knowledge of main data, back, and front-end frameworks : JS, Java/C#, NodeJs, Python/Dash, R/Shiny, Tensorflow, PyTorch, SQL and NoSQL DB, numpy, scikit-learn, gensim, nltk, …
- Good knowledge and usage of CI/CD and Docker technologies
- Strong autonomy and ability to work in a fast-changing world
- Rigorous in the delivery
- Team spirit
